Where We Walked

I titled this shot “Where We Walked” because it perfectly captures a moment that caught my attention during a leisurely walk on Bournemouth Beach. At first, it was the footprints scattered across the sand that drew me in, some large, clearly human, and others smaller, belonging to dogs. The variety of sizes and shapes left me imagining all the stories behind them. What fascinated me most, though, was how this concentration of footsteps seemed to lead nowhere, as if people and their companions had wandered aimlessly, leaving only these fleeting traces behind.

What truly makes this shot special, though, is the small rock in the center, shaped perfectly like a baby’s foot. It felt like a hidden treasure, almost as if nature had placed it there to be discovered. Seeing it among the other imprints made the shot even more poetic, a beautiful reminder of the innocence of small steps in the vastness of the beach. I couldn’t help but pause because I was so captivated by this quiet, serendipitous moment where the ordinary became extraordinary.
